Torrevieja is a city in the province of Alicante, in the southeast of Spain. It is located about 30 kilometres at south of Alicante and it is a well-known seaside resort that once was just a small fishing village. Today the permanent population is about 130,000 inhabitants, but during the summer season this number exceeds 500 thousand people. Thanks to its coastal situation and two large salt mines, Torrevieja enjoys a very healthy climate. Salt lakes, which were the source of “white gold”, became national parks with a rich diversity of birds and small animals. Salt is the main export product of the city, and Torrevieja is one of the main salt producers in Europe. Currently, Torrevieja is widely known as a tourist destination: its beaches of fine sand and crystal clear water are one of the attractions for people who want to spend here all the year or any season. On the beaches and surroundings everybody can find numerous bars, cafes and restaurants according to their taste. La Mata is one of the districts located at north of Torrevieja. It is particularly interesting for tourists thanks to the high quality sand on its beaches. The beach is always clean and in constant vigilance from lifeguards during summer and holidays seasons. The water is crystal clear and has an unusual blue colour. Orihuela Costa is one of the most attractive tourist regions in Spain and Europe. It is located a few kilometres at south of Torrevieja. This area is very popular and tourism flourishes here all the year. All the beaches of Orihuela Costa enjoy blue flag, which confirms the purity of its waters and sands, as well as it is a security mark.
It is divided into several small coastal towns such as Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor and Mil Palmeras, as well as beautiful green spaces in Villamartin surrounded by three large golf courses. These areas are considered the most attractive both for leisure and for the purchase of properties. Orihuela Costa attracts people with its very well maintained green areas with swimming pools, tropical vegetation and panoramic views. The beaches of La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor emerged from sandy bays on cliffs surrounded by clean water and golden sand. GUARDAMAR DEL SEGURA
Guardamar del Segura is surrounded by two large salt lakes that form "Salinas de Guardamar", natural sites protected by the Spanish Government. It is a developing tourist centre and one of the most important on the Mediterranean coast. The concentration of salt and high temperatures creates a particularly favourable microclimate recommended by doctors. The climate of Guardamar makes it an ideal place to spend holidays as well as weekend getaways. In the village you will find many establishments that serve traditional dishes of the area.
Ciudad Quesada is a small, self-sufficient town, located on a hill in the Costa Blanca. It was born relatively recently, in the 70's. It was founded by tourists who visited the place and, little by little, bought land to build their houses. Over time, as its population grew, supermarkets, bank branches, restaurants, bars and shops were opened. An additional attraction for sports lovers is a picturesque golf course. Ciudad Quesada is the ideal place to live all year round away from the noise and crowds of tourists and provides a pleasant stay throughout the year. SAN MIGUEL DE SALINAS
San Miguel de Salinas is a small town located in the heart of the Costa Blanca. It enjoys a very pleasant atmosphere with more than 320 days of sunshine a year. It is surrounded by some of the biggest golf courses, a real pleasure for lovers of this sport. The beach is about 7 km far from this village. In the area there are two lakes of salt water thanks to which San Miguel has this unique microclimate, especially recommended by doctors.
